Sinker..bullet

Went detecting in a small creek today found 1 3ringer and this. I kinda want to say a sinker but there is is visual signs of where line would be tied too. I even took point of knive and dug in top thinking an eye was attatched ..i dont know jyst throwing it out there

I am NOT an expert, but there are plenty experts here who will chime in. My hunch is that this is not a bullet. But I agree it looks very much like a bullet. However, I believe most bullets of the era had a cone or rounded nose on top of a cylindrical body (or they were round ball). I don't see the cylindrical part of the body, so I am a bit dubious about this being a bullet. All that said, if the experts come in and say it is, then I will quickly bow to their judgement.

I think you may be right. I've seen pictures of bullets for county rifles that looked very much like this and can't imagine that they would be accurate.
