With our British friends @rebel brit and his wife Gill in country we decided to get together at our favorite battlefield Shiloh. We also decided to host our dear yankee friend Tina aka @NH Civil War Gal to join us as she has been going thru a lot lately with her husband Earl's heart surgery. After I talked to Earl, he insisted that she go. @Ole Miss picked her up at the Memphis airport and brought her to Corinth.

We started by going to a place that @16thAL setup for a good old fashion Southern breakfast grits included. Then we showed her why the battle fought. The crossroads at Corinth. Then the Corinth Interpretive center and even got to see our CWT member and park ranger TomP. More to follow.

We had a great weekend and I was even able to talk Larry DeBerry to give her the Shiloh experience. 2 full days in the park was awesome

I now have in my possession the rarest Shiloh artifact there is but that is for another separate thread but its RARE. I thought @Ole Miss would P his pants when I showed it to him.

I was able to show Tina my favorite spots in the park. Ruggles Battery which up until that time was the largest concentration of artillery ever assembled 62 cannons.

Glad to see y'all having a great time. Safe travels and cherished memories to all y'all!
Wait till you see the Stones River muster diorama that @rebel brit made me commemorating our muster last year as it features the river crossing and you:D

And you can almost hear the cuss words coming out of your mouth. It is very lifelike and yet another true masterpiece from rebelbrit.

Must say, once again I'm humbled.

I know I miss everyone, but time and life challenges aside I would've loved to head out to Shiloh, and the Shenandoah. Especially since I made a CS frock coat specifically appropriate for Shiloh as I've grown to love that battlefield and history. But it and some honesty got me thrown from the SCV by National HQ and it seems banned from reenacting west of the Mississippi….
(Leave it to me to ruffle feathers with some blunt honesty when everyone deludes themselves. I got cancelled by folks who supposedly don't do that!)

But I reckon it wasn't in the cards for this year. That diorama though, flattering yet somehow disturbing. Love it!

Tina got the full Shiloh tour to include @Ole Miss at the CS burial trenches and Larry with "You have time for one more story. The highlight of the day was the get together at Hagys with everyone

to include Larry and his girlfriend.
