Just finished this compelling book about the Plessy v. Ferguson trial that cemented separate but equal by the Supreme Court and led to Jim Crow laws.
Luxenberg follows the careers/ lives of Albion Tourgee, John Marshall Harlan, and Henry Billings Brown, along with others, who were instrumental in the trial and how they developed their beliefs about race and equality.
Definitely a must read. Lots of great stuff here.
