Theres a book i have, titled: Seen The Glory,it's the biography of the country's oldest person.Mark Thrash he was born in to slavery on Dec 25th 1820 he passed away Dec 17th 1943 at 123yrs old!!. He helped bury the dead at Chickamauga, and then served the park service at Chickamauga from 1893 to 1922 and at the age of 101 was the oldest person on Government payroll. He lived at the southern end of Dyer Field at Chickamauga, telling his stories to visitors of the park.In his 123yrs he had 5 wives and was the father to 29 children. He is buried in Chickamauga GA.

The book is a easy read at less than 100 pages ( 66 to be exact) but is really an interesting view of life through the eyes of a man who has "been there done that" and was said to be a really genuine nice guy, i highly recommend it,it is a great way to spend a couple of hours reading.:)
