Seclusaval Plantation

Seclusaval was built outside August, Georgia in 1843 by Valentine Walker. His grandson was WHT Walker, a West Point graduate, Mexican War and Seminole War veteran, and Confederate General.
He led a division through the Atlanta Campaign and was killed by a Federal picket as he deployed his men at the start of the Battle of Atlanta.
Walker also was a 1/4 owner of Mobley Pond Plantation further down the Savannah River.
The house is privately owned but is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The home owners have been recently honored by the Augusta Historical Society for preservation of the home.

Walker was probably the most cantankerous individual in the Confederate Army. Mix that with being passed over at the start of the war, despite being a high rank in the regular army, and you have a recipe for hurt feelings.
