Aboard the CSS Alabama there was an Irish fiddler named Micheal Mahoney who got detained at simons bay South Africa making the crew very sad as their nights could no longer have cheerful music to dance to. I was wondering what happened to this man after he was released.

Do you know where he lived after the war?
unfortunately not, the only mention from semmes memoir was that he was the Irish fiddler and was detained, the crew was not able to get him back in time before their departure. He most likely originated from either England or Ireland, he was with the crew since the start of the journey.

The "CSS Alabama's South African Expeditionary Raid" was Aug-Sep 1863.
