MANUSCRIPT IS IN! Fall 2024 release. No Amazon, no wholesalers. Savas Beatie is the only source.
The Carman Papers of the Maryland Campaign, 1862, Tom Clemens, editor. Likely will be 3 volumes.
About 1.1 million words, i.e., 2,000 letters from veterans of the campaign, to and from Antietam historian Ezra A. Carman and John M. Gould. A goldmine like you have never seen, with scores of hand-drawn maps of tactical events. Tom has added a couple thousand footnotes packed with names, dates, and information. Wow.
These are BETTER for Antietam than the magnificent Bachelder Papers are for Gettysburg. Let that sink in. These books unlock the primary source material and will allow future historians to write all forms of studies, including at the micro-tactical level, for all future generations.
