Savage North

I have the 4 original Springfield Research books, it's a hit or miss proposition though. Sometimes you get lucky, most times, not.

Thanks for the welcome messages.I live in Norway,Scandinavia. As for the Savage, its a civilian model, serialnumber 344.None of my ancestors fought in the civil war as far as I know. But it has a certain interrest over here too.

Hello and welcome from way over here in Missouri. I'd like to see a picture of your Savage.

I would have to buy some equipment before I can post a picture. It is a "figure 8" type, with an overall brown patina. No martial markings, only the serialnumbers and the factory adress.Mechanism is reasonably good, but not like new.A strange oddball, this.

Hi, again. I'm familiar with the revolver, but always like to see pictures when they are available. Here's a link to a very informative video about Savage revolvers. I've posted it in other threads, but you might not have seen it. The host is Hungarian, so you need to listen closely. He provides a lot of good information, demonstrates shooting it, and even strips it down to show the internal mechanism:

He makes a good video no matter where he's from.
