There are two different presentation swords known that belonged to General Crawford. One of the swords was presented by staff officers to him during the war. This sword also has a metal ribbon attachment on the scabbard engraved with all the battles Crawford served in from Fort Sumter through Gettysburg to Appomattox. I recently learned that early in the war after Fort Sumter Samuel Crawford served with General Rosecrans as a staff officer. Please write of any General Crawford thoughts you may care to share. Regards Nick
