Salient Work at Vicksburg

Got this one up. For some reason keep getting error messages. Will have to get back here later on, got to get after the garden tiller for planting veggies. This is what the crest of Champion Hill looks today. Took the photo Saturday. Got more to upload but keep getting error messages. Bruce

What camera do you use for panorama pictures? If you don't mind me asking.

Gang, I know this isn't exactly the thread to bring this up, but, is there a large format map (wall size) that shows the Vicksburg fortifications (like the salient) in detail?

Here are at least three...one of them is a map of the Federal works post siege.

Hello 1st MS-Arty,

I use a Nikon P510 for the images and Panorama Factory to construct the pans. I haven't had the camera to long and still learning how to use it. I use it in the auto mode and hoping to learn how to use the other settings. Not very good with cameras. So far the auto mode is the only feature I know how to use. Been using Panorama Factory for several years now. I just recently upgraded to the latest one.

Thanks MS - that first link is almost exactly what I'm looking for. Do you (or anybody else) know where I could purchase a large (like wall size) version of something like that. All the Vicksburg maps I've used on site were pretty inadequate for the battlefield tramping I want to do.

this is by far the best map to have. It is in the VNMP library. You may be able to get a copy from them.
