Rough Riders

Watched Platoon over the weekend...a few actors were in both Platoon and Rough Riders: Tom Berenger, Mark Moses, Francesco Quinn, Dale Dye. I think that's all of them. Pretty cool.

I kinda liked Berringer as TR.....Throughout the movie, he is naively adventurous....by the end, he matures, as a result of brutal combat.....But, none-the-less, he is humorous!!

The Combat of "Gettysburg" and "Rough Riders" turned Berrenger into a hardened war veteran killing machine! LOL

Hey platoon does has a good rendition of Oh Susanna in a night marching scene, on a "civil war" related note.

I don't know if you get a version of the television reality show, 'Big Brother ' over in the Colonies but in case you don't it's a programme where a group of people get locked into 'Big Brothers house' and they are constantly filmed 24/7 for a few weeks. Anyway there is a celebrity version on air at the moment and Gary Busey is in there and man, what a character. Viewers phone in every week to save their favourite contestant and the one with the fewest votes get evicted. If Gary doesn't win it will be a travesty. I watched 'Rough Riders' over here on cable a few weeks ago and I thought it was great fun especially Tom Beringers 'over the top' Roosevelt and Buseys' Wheeler.

The attempt at making back stories for the characters as the movie was going, up to the night before Kettle and San Juan Hill, didn't help...especially with only three hours to do it all in.
