NF Robert Rodes

Non-Fiction
Just received my copy of Major General Robert Rodes of the Army of Northern Virginia by Darrell Collins. Looks to be a very good read about one of my favorite Generals. Can't wait to dive in !

I think we'd all like to see a review of when your done. Rodes is a little forgotten compared to most Generals.

We (the Rodes family) got a copy of this book right when it was published. I find it an excellent biography, and a difficult one to write, given the lack of archival information available. It doesn't reveal a great deal of new information, but it is about as complete as it can be, and Darrell Collins did a fine job of piecing together a coherent narrative with limited factual information at his disposal. For what it's worth, I found it a very interesting read, and anyone interested in my ancestor will no doubt find it one as well.
