Henry Lee III (Light Horse Harry) was a general in George Washington's Continental Army. Lee died on Cumberland Island, Georgia in 1818. Lee was the father of Robert Edward Lee (Confederate General of the Army of Northern Virginia). In 1913, Henry Lee's remains were moved from Cumberland Island to his son's crypt at the Washington-Lee University chapel in Lexington, Virginia.

The Cumberland Island National Seashore was a great tour! We took a van tour of the island. On our last stop before we rode the boat back to St. Marys, our guide took us to the house where Henry Lee III died and cemetery where he was first buried. The cemetery was designed for the relatives of Nathanael Greene's wife. I highly recommend a tour of the Cumberland Island National Seashore.
