maybe that was just an excuse to save the kitten the trauma of the trip!

Lol! True, true. However, he wrote a couple times about the snake and his last letter about it was he was concerned because it was not showing much interest in its frogs, of which there was an abundance in the area around his station. It appears to have died shortly thereafter. Kind of wonder if he had it for pest control!

I wanted to bring up this thread on Spec by FarawayFriend. This was the inspiration for adding about Spec to the Four Footed Friend forum. Thanks to Andrea for this thread. I just thought Spec should be added to the Four Footed Forum. It was another animal loved by Robert E. Lee and his family. I know this thread by Andrea needed to stay in Robert E. Lee Forum, so that why I did one I posted. Thanks to Andrea for this story and having me read more on Spec.
