Robert Chew, Company D., "Mosby's Command"

I was 17 when I join the US Navy, I had just turned 17 when I joined the National Guard, while still a senior in high school. My father had to sign for me both times.
So, so young. I'm sure your parents were proud. Perhaps a little worried though? My father wanted one of my nephews to join the service right out of high school ~ felt the boy could benefit. My mother, sister, and I were horrified by the thought though.

Then again, parents worrying about their kids never quite goes away, does it? :)

I ran across a soldier named CHEW. Made me wonder if he was Chinese. Glad to see the photo to confirm he isn't.

Trying not to be a racist but my best Chinese friend is CHOW.
