Sharing as a JFYI. As a reminder, Gen Cleburne's troops (three of my folks among 'em) were well-concealed, behind cover. The Union troops advanced over open ground. So of course Cleburne's troops suffered greater casualties. That's a law of military science.

Anyway, General Cleburne reported (OR XXXI, Pt II) reported 20 killed, 190 wounded, 11 missing. I think, underline think, that the ABT might have used Fighting Joe's casualty figures? Which as I recall even Grant thought were questionable.

Separately, is there a standalone Chickamauga/Chattanooga forum?

Excellent catch on your part!

Hooker pursued with about 10k. He gets to Ringgold without his artillery. They have to bridge the Chickamauga so that wheel vehicles can pursue. Don't get there until after the battle. Most all Federals pursue the Confederates after Missionary Ridge. Go different places. By the end of the day, about when the battle winds down and after. More than the Troops Hooker had get to Ringgold. Cleuburn's Division probably about 4K. However, he had the preferred ground. And 3 or 4 pieces of artillery. So, yes Hooker got spanked. Hooker had a pretty easy time on Lookout Mtn. He had a huge advantage on Missionary Ridge. Advanced following a demoralized Army. So, when he got to Ringgold. He was overconfident and didn't expect what was going to happen.
