Rifleman's (Shooters) mittens/gloves

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post in but here goes.....

I managed to misplace a pattern I had for Civil War era shooter's mittens. They were crocheted. The mittens have a separate thumb and forefinger that are not closed off, allowing the soldier to fire his weapon without removing the "glove/mitten". The remaining fingers are covered as in a regular mitten. If anyone has a pattern, I'd greatly appreciate it. I have a bunch of 100% wool I would like to use up, not enough for sweaters but definitely enough for a set or two of mittens.

My daughter found our portable hard drive last night. On the off chance I saved a copy I started searching the drive. I found it saved in a folder completely unrelated to crochet of any type or time period!
