Repeat?

Interesting story on Yahoo.....

http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_thelo...t-health-care-law-with-nullification-argument

So, with Nullification back on the table, and the arguments about States Rights popping back up, anybody seeing history repeating it's self and wonder if we are headed for a repeat?

In a word, no.

Just as "states' rights" was cover for slavery in the 19th century, and cover for Jim Crow in the 20th century, it's cover for politics in the 21st century. The second a Republican is elected president it will evaporate.

Plus the only doctrine more discredited than nullification is the earth is flat. Nullification's long and rich association with **** and segregation, its repeated defeats in court should embarrass anyone trying to revive the loathsome old corpse. Unless its some sort of "dog whistle."

Right now I've got eight inches of snow, a furnace that went out last night, a bad back, and no booze. A repeat of the mid 1800s is not high on my list of concerns.

I feel for you, must be very miserable. To add insult to injury it's in the 50's here in the Deep South, wish I could ship some of the nice weather to you (with a little booze too).
