Hi reaching out to see what your opinions are for a good CW relic identification book. I've seen listed quite a few. Thanks!

A lot of the books now are specialized, buckles, buttons, bullets etc. There a few that just have dug relics from certain areas. What items are you looking to ID?

Something that covers alittle of everything. I've been working a cavalry site

Here are 2 you can start with. I have items I dug in Howard's book. Charlie's book has a lot of items.

Books get expensive very fast. Search for used ones. Check through the dealers list. Most have a few. Start with a couple and then get ones more specific. A Cavalry sight covers many, many items

I might take you up on that, I did get a a few from used book store . My wife drug me there and found a few that seemed interesting

I use Abe Books a lot for good quality used books, but sometimes I find good deals on EBay too.

Well, when I started collecting artillery projectiles; I mistakenly thought: "Hey, this should be fairly simple as how many different kinds can there be"? That proved to only be slightly incorrect as the reference book pile on the subject is now about two feet high and always growing. Information is gold and before you spend your gold get all of the information that you can.
