Regimental history check list

In 1962 a multi-volume work provided the regimentals histories from the various states. this is from my home state.

Although useful they are now very dated and do not have any works published after 1962. It would be great to have an updated series like this. Has anyone did this?

An important source is Howard Cole's Civil War Eyewitnesses: An Annotated Bibliography of Books and Articles. Volume I (1988) includes about 1400 accounts published between 1955 and 1986; while Volume II (2000) lists almost 600 published between 1986 and 1996. It is badly in need of updating.

There's also an online catalog of Civil War Regimental Histories in the Library of Congress.
