Does anyone know of a resource where I would be able to find the battle casualties of a specific regiment in a specific battle?

Brass-
I have a report from a colonel of my ancestors regiment, to his superior listing the name, rank, company and type of injury (or killed) of every casualty of the regiment of one battle they fought in.
Is this something along the lines you are looking for?

Yeah, something like that would be great. Right now I'm specifically looking for the 27th USCT at the Battle of the Crater. Unfortunately there has never been a regimental history written about it, to my knowledge. I'll see if there's an addendum to the commander's report in the O.R.s, per @rpkennedy's suggestion.

Fold3 has a file for Conferate Casualty Reports with sub-folders. Some are very detsiled rosters and some are totals per unit.
There are folders fir battles by State. Fir some battles there are only reoort of a few regiments. But it is wrth a shot.

I'll take a look at my records when I get home @brass napoleon. I may be able to find a number for you.

Though note that Fox's Regimental Losses is not entirely accurate. Regimental losses often do vary from source to source. I know for certain that Fox's list of Confederate regimental and brigade losses is not entirely complete. For example, you will not find Confederate brigade or regimental losses from the battle of Franklin in there (Chapter 15), and some numbers are under or overestimated.

You're right, Aug, but William Fox's work is focused on Union Casualties. He doesn't pretend to get Confederate losses completely straight.
