Reenactments in Alabama

Does anyone know of, or recommend any reenactments in Alabama?

The most well known, and favorite of many, is Fort Blakeley which is held every couple years. There is one in Gainsville I think folks highly recommend and have tried to get me out to. Also, I've heard good things of Selma, but I think it doesn't happen anymore.

Yes, but it is a hardcore/"stitichcounter" event. Not every reenactor is allowed to go, they have high standards on how reenactors look, camp, and so on to make it as authentic as they can. Here's an older thread to give you an idea and see pictures:

Decatur, Sept 2 to 4 2022. Selma use to have a great one but when the city sent the organizer a bill for $23,000 for city service they could no longer afford to put it.

Fort Blakeley is an awesome event. It will be happening again in the spring, it's held every other year. I plan on being there.
