Reenacting Season

In my part of the country, western Illinois/Eastern Iowa, our first event is coming up at Keokuk, IA (last weekend of April). Today, I told my 12 year old son/Pard that we need to check our uniforms & gear, make any necessary repairs and prepare our food-stuffs (jerky, hardtack, pickled eggs, etc). We usually go "Campaign Style" (haversack, canteen and bedroll.....If you can't carry it, you don't need it!), but we'll take our tent for Keokuk, given the unknown nature of April weather in Iowa ! :)

So, I got to thinking, how soon do y'all prepare for your upcoming events? When do your events start? How many events will you do in a season? (we have 13 events for 2014 from April through October!).....Will I see any of you in Western IL, Eastern, IA, Wisconsin, Richmond, KY or Franklin, TN??....If so, I'll hook up with ya and buy ya a Saspirilla!!
