Found a small Calvary camp recently.

Nice and I love the fancy spur. The rest has to be close by.

That's what I'm thinking, from what I know these are what is referred to as Christmas spurs because the patent date was December 25.

Correct. Here is one that I have in my collection.

The patent date is actually December 24, 1861 but they are indeed referred to as the Christmas Spur!
