"I was sorry to hear from your mother that you smoke occasionally. It is dangerous to meddle with. You have in store so much better employment for your mouth. Reserve it for its legitimate pleasure. Do not poison and corrupt it with stale vapors or tarnish your beard with their stench."

I sent this to my buddy who is much less a Lee fan now unfortunately.

Don't think Lee ever even tried smoking or chewing. That could be why he looks most unhappy being a meerschaum pipe!
