My wife and I are planning a trip to Gettysburg for early summer, dates TBD. I wouldn't mind taking a ghost tour, but she does not share that feeling. Does anyone know of any evening, or even late afternoon, walking tours of the town that we could do?

Do a search. On the Blue bar ar the top of the page look all the way to the right side you will see the "Search " tab. Hit the search tab type in "Walking Tours At Gettysburg " hit search.. you will see 10 pages..

There are so many people there walking around doing evening ghost tours that I sometimes think that they will trip over each other in the dark! Crowd control, please!

I was in the Horse Soldier many years ago and a customer was asking the store employee about ghosts as he was finishing up the sale . The employee calmly and somewhat cooly said "I grew up where Pickett's charge took place .I've never seen a ghost . If you do see one , let me know."

I'm a Pennsylvanian also. Years ago, I convinced my sister to take an October weekend road trip with me to Gettysburg. It was a girls' weekend. We purchased tickets for an evening ghost tour. Other random tourists mocked us throughout the entire trip. For instance, when our tour group walked down the sidewalk, people riding past us would roll down their car windows and yell, "Boo!" That sort of thing.

Then, when we were on the campus of Gettysburg College, the guide told us some story about a ghost that smells like tobacco. We were standing in the back of the group. A man standing next to me said, "I want a smoke now, but if I light up, I will freak people out."
