This relates to whether there was a Confederate SOP for handling prisoners. Say you go on a raid, the object of which is to bring in prisoners. Would there have been an SOP for how to get them to the rear and to HQ for interrogation? Did they detail people from the attacking unit to take the POWs to the rear, under an officer or sergeant from the raiders? Or would they bring along an officer from HQ whose job would be to command the guards?
