Soon we will be caving our pumpkins for Halloween and perhaps even look up grandma pumpkin pie recipe so we know where it is at before Thanksgiving.

We all know pumpkin pie were ate for many years before the Civil War, and recipes have changed since the Civil War, but what would us modern folk think about the taste of Civil War pumpkin pies? What would Civil War soldiers think of the style of pumpkin pies of today?

I do wonder what a Civil War soldier would think of a pumpkin spice latte cup of coffee. Now I want to go out and get a chocolate caramel pumpkin latte with extra whip cream. I am not totally sure if I should consider such a cup of coffee and not sure Civil War soldiers would consider it a cup of coffee.

I don' t like latte coffee or all of the other coffee drinks! I just like my strong and black. In my opinion civil war soldiers would say what is latte anted never heard that one before...
But I love pumpkin pie with hot coffee with maybe a little whip cream on it. :smile coffee:

Ooh. I love pumpkin pie! Just the thought of it gets me excited for the Fall season. I have to say I have an affinity for all things pumpkin and pumpkin spiced, but I saw an ad for pumpkin spiced bologna on Facebook today and it made me cringe. I was relieved to learn it was "fake news."
