"On page 247 of William Davis "The Fighting Men of the Civil War" is a group picture of a Ohio Regiment with a Credit of the Library of COngress. The setting was taken in a Town square-allegedly in Muster Out in 1865. However it is hard to trace the orginal caption since the Publisher who compiled the pictures in question is now out of Business.
It may not have been taken out of Muster Out in 1865--for example the 66th OVI had a missing group picture taken of itself in 1864 In Urbana Ohio {See David Thackery "A Light and Uncertain Hold" .p.183.} Ironically if does turn out to be the missing 66th OVI picture, this letter writer cannot identify a great-great-uncle of the 66th-he never had a formal portrait taken of himself before he was mortally wounded in 1864!."
