On September 22nd, 1862 then President Abraham Lincoln issued the preliminary Emancipation Proclamation which came shortly after the battle of Antietam. What value did the Emancipation Proclamation bring to the war? Was is one of the greatest war measures Lincoln produced during the Civil War?
