Found this oil lamp part at old church site union cavalry passed through. It lines up pretty good with the complete example. Didn't know if this was a common style that civilians used as well or was it designed just for military. Opinions?

Judging by the four slots on the top of your found example, looks like it would match the worthpoint example, where the wick guide would attach. Civilian or military use would be hard to prove, my .02
