Joshua's only record I found was in the Tennessee 5th Cavalry Confederate. Through Dec.1864.

Jesse was a Union Soldier. Being that old, I'd guess he was a teamster.

Jesse A. Peek

Residence was not listed; 45 years old.

Enlisted on 9/15/1863 as a Private.

On 10/26/1863 he mustered into "B" Co. TN 10th Cavalry
He died of disease on 4/28/1865

Thank you, I always wondered how he died.

I have found records for a Jesse Peek on Ancestry. Birth year and death dates match. His wife's name is shown as Harriet Wilson and that they were married in Buncombe County NC where both were born. There are records for 8 children, one of whom died in infancy. A note in the file shows Harriet's name on her tombstone spelled Peek, but their son Joseph's name was spelled Peak on his. Another record shows Jesse to have been enrolled as a Private in Company B, 10th Tennessee Cavalry (Union).

On Ancestry.com I found a draft record for a James Lord of Blythe Township Schuylkill County. His age as of July 1, 1863, was 39 indicating an 1823 or 1824 birth year. Lord was Class indicating he was married and between 36 - 44 years of age. Census records show this James Lord as living in Blythe Township as late as 1870 and in Mahoney City in the 1880 and 1900 Census.

James A. D. Lord of Company M, 2nd Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery died on August 12, 1864, of a gunshot wound to the forearm. His regiment was assigned to the Eighteenth Corps of the Army of the James and was in the trenches of Petersburg in the months before his death.
