Pickett was well known for his very style of dress, which included a very nice uniform and infantry blue kepi that he wore on his head. This Kepi covered Pickett's long hair at Williamsburg, Seven Pines, Gaines Mill, Fredericksburg, Gettysburg, Kinston, Cold Harbor, and Five Forks.

I remember all the controversy that occurred when the Pickett items were originally sold... and the players involved... It was truly a mess....

Yeah sounds like their was a scam, I really wish though the Pickett descendant would of looked more into the items he had and learning the history, BEFORE selling them

More of a situation of opportunity.... one side was smart, but not in a good honest way... the other side... well just wasn't smart at all.....

Agreed, as I said above he should of looked over the stuff and researched everything before selling it. What the other side did is opportunistic though

The "other side" was not completely unknown either... He was already known in many of the relic circles and as a dealer to some degree.... Managed to get onto the Antique Road Show a few times as one of the antique "experts".... To further expand his opportunity and possible camera time.... Actually got some people he knew to come to the show as a visitor with rare relic articles that he already knew about... staging it as if the person and article was unknown and never seen before.... so he could get opportunity to "display his knowledge" and get more time on camera.... Antique Road Show soon learned be was baiting and staging things and was promptly canned off the show.... This was just one of many events that occurred with this individual... The Pickett artifacts was just one of many....

Opportunistic as they come.......
