Phillip Tucker's books on Gettysburg - any thoughts? Several of the titles seem interesting.

Never heard of him, but from the reviews, I'll get back to reading the Killer Angels again.

Well I found his book on Barksdale's brigade at Gettysburg very disappointing. Probably I should have glanced through it more carefully before buying it so it's my own fault. I presumed because it was written by a military man it would be more of a serious tactical study. John

The way Phillip Thomas Tucker PhD wrote about himself in the third-person on his website is... interesting.

I liked The Confederacy's Fighting Chaplain: Father John B. Bannon and it was published by The University of Alabama Press.

There are authors who are prolific who manage to turn out top quality work every time. One excellent example is involved in this thread. Then there are authors who are prolific because - unfortunately - they have access to a word processor.
