I watch Pharaoh's Army last night. The movie is set in Civil War Kentucky. I thought it was a fairly good movie.

That is a new one to me. Is it on Netflix?

My wife had it on DVD. So I am not sure it is on Netflix.

The movie shows what happens when a small group of Union soldiers, who are gathering supplies, ends up being delayed at the house of a women whose husband is off fighting for the Confederacy.

This afternoon I watched Last Stand at Saber River. Tom Selleck plays a Confederate deserter who is trying to put his life back together. I think this was a made for TV movie. It is an interesting movie, more a a western with a Civil War backdrop. I found it entertaining.

I use to have it on DVD it was very good film. I thought it was better than The Last Confederate story by Robert Adams. Originally called Strike The Tent which would have been better if it stayed that title.

I finally got around to watching Pharaoh's Army tonight. It's not bad...not great. What made it more interesting to me was that this was placed in southeastern Kentucky during the war and during the time the Union was in possession of Cumberland Gap...where I had relatives serving in 1862.

I watched it last week. My minor pet peeve is the use of "sniper" and any Civil War soldier's account that mentioned sniper was generally written after WW I (or the Boer War) made the term popular. Other than that, it was a decent film.

RIP Israel.

The COVID-19 is keeping my mostly at home so I am raiding my wife's DVDs.
I spent the time to write the WW II sniper book. It interrupted my work on Port Hudson which at that time was up to 44k words. It took a couple of years to get restarted and finish it. The delay was certainly beneficial as modern regimental histories were released that not only provided insights but also more sources (I do read the notes & bibliography). I'm glad it's almost done. Some copy editor is working on it now.
