28th Virgina Infantry's thread got me thinking. How much potential was there for another that perished in the aftermath of Gettysburg. What about J. Johnston Pettigrew?

Obviously quite an intelligent man who spoke multiple languages and very educated. I realize his real baptism of fire was Gettysburg but his troops performed well on day 1 and I think pretty well on day 3 for the most part
