The innovative and invention of the war are one of the many things that draw me to the wars history. The submersible, use of galvanic batteries, balloons, that inflatable do-hicky raised the drought of a ship are pretty wild.

There are some duds I like too. The personal pontoon boat being one. Anything y'all like that was strange or downright silly?

This is Union general Herman Haupt. I believe in this he was inspecting a damaged railroad bridge but I could be wrong. He was in charge of military railroads but resigned because his demands were not met in 1863. He had a great ability to get things done and I consider him an unsung hero of the war.
