In 1985, Tufts University began exploring how a library could exist in the then new digital world. The Perseus Collection is what resulted, an online library of sorts. The heart of the collection is Greco-Roman history and literature, but there is quite a lot of 19th-century America too. And nearly all of the digitized texts are searchable.

There's a lot of good stuff in here - take a look!
