I thought this was an awesome picture, worthy of Troiani. These are fellows of the campaigner adjunct portraying the 9th Tennessee at Perryville this past weekend.
Very cool shot. I was about 10 feet closer to the photographer and just out of the picture in Company B- just as well - I would not have added any quality to the photo. It was a great weekend.

No problem at all... it was published in the online version of the Lexington Herald Leader on Oct 8th... this one amongst others.... it had been snagged and passed about by many... likely very few knew where it originated from either.... I know a bunch of the guys in the image... that were part of the adjunct portrayal that day...
Perryville does an annual small scale demo and living history event each year... but the bigger anniversary event such as this one only comes around every five years.... However they decided this time to do it a year earlier than the normal "155th-1862" cycle for a variety of reasons... including to lessen the competition amongst the usual cluster of 1862 cycle events.
I highly recommend a visit to this wonderfully preserved American Civil War battlefield. And I highly recommend you walk this terrain! You will definitely get a feel for this 1862 conflict fought throughout the Chaplin Hills area.
I'm trying to figure out how to explain to my guy that I'd like to travel to various reenactments to photograph them. But he has to stay home to keep an eye on things. Somehow, I don't think this will go over well.
Am still crawling through Perryville by Noe. (Hardee has not assaulted yet.) When I told my wife last week, that it was the anniversary of Perryville, she said: really? Glad I was still reading it then.

Lori Ann, my wife & I have the same problem. We have a small cow/calf operation and it is hard for us to leave overnight together. To make it work, I have to give her the same understanding I want from her.
