What is this? Pedersoli 1861 springfield

So I ordered a brand new pedersoli 1861 springfield a month or so ago and I've had nothing but problems with it. The rifle will fire a live round but will not fire a blank with out me turning the gun on its side and tapping on the opposite side of the breech (to fill powder in the fire channel) if I load a ball it has no problems firing I did get 3 miss fires out of 50 rounds but I think thats the CCI caps I do have German caps and it will not fire a blank with either cap unless I turn and tap on it pretty aggressively. Yes if I fire a cap it will move a blade of grass (more so w the German caps then the CCI)

Anyone eles had this issue?

Using Goex 2F and mix CCI and German caps.

I've also had other Fit and finish issues w the gun if your wondering. The barrel bands were extremely tight and scratched up the top of the barrel when they assembled it. Spent 30 mins w a dreamel tool getting all 3 to fit right.

The rear sight top leaf is really loose and flip up when I fire or load.

It fires live rounds more easily because the charge is rammed and therefore the powder is compressed against the flash channel, which is not the case with blanks. Suggest you swap out the percussion cone with a stainless steel replacement and drill out the vent to 1/16". I think the cone size is 5/16 x24. Also try FFFg powder, I find it ignites more easily in the reproduction US 1861.

Very surprised you've had all these issues. IMHO, Pedersoli is top of the line. Craig L Barry makes some good suggestions.

I had the same problem with an Armi-Sport M61. I bought an aftermaket cone from Regimental Quartermaster with a large hole for firing blanks and made all the difference. Also make sure you take the clean out screw out of the bolster and clean it good every time. 3X Goex and German caps.
