Period Peach Pot Pie

Found this amazing period cookbook online over at archive.org entitled the The National Cook Book published in 1856. I snipped the recipe for Peach Pot Pie, which I think may just be a deep dish pie today from the sound it. Since fresh peaches are showing up in local markets, I thought I'd post this relatively simple recipe.

There were so many peaches in Georgia that were for sale off the interstate.. This is time to make this Peach Pot Pie or some other peach dishes.

Hummmmm peaches..... I love fresh peaches. This sounds like an soulful cobbler. Instead of dashes of flour/sugar/butter paste, it's top and bottom. I'll actually try this. Now... to find some fresh peaches. Thanks.
