Somebody on history-sites.com named Alan J Pitts had access to the microfilm of the Bennett House records, I'm not sure who or where he is now, though.

I am continuing to try and help you find Alan Pitts.

Can you tell me the date and state of the history-sites.com post you refer to?

I am fairly sure that he lived in Alabama before moving west.

At Port Hudson officers were sent to POW camps, most stayed there until the end of the war.
Rank and file soldiers were paroled.

This may be a lead on finding parole records for Port Hudson.

That doesn't help me. Locate him.
I checked and the last post of his was 2017.
I hoped there would be some info about where he moved, but I don't see any.
I will keep thinking.

Did the Confederates even record Union paroles for Harpers Ferry? It must have gotten confusing, since the 39th New York escaped entirely without being paroled...
