Packaged tours?

Was wondering if any have done them, and there experiences if so. With my travel limited last year due to cancer, wishing to make up for it a bit this year.

Have looked at and considering these two for example

America by Rail

I have only done package tours in Europe.

I have not done packaged tours but I have heard good things about the Mississippi Riverboat tour.

My parents are going on a Miss river cruise from Memphis to New Orleans or vice versa. I've heard good things but that mostly came from the ships website lol

That's the conflict, I did a America by Rail tour a few years ago going out west, enjoyed it and this one does all eastern battles, none of which I've seen.

The riverboat does some I have seen, and the rest would be more manageable to drive to with camper............But I have always wanted to do a riverboat cruise on one of the Queen's since a kid..........

Reading the itineraries and the transport, I'd say it's hard to go wrong on either account!
