Old Joe Confederate Statue staying put

GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- The fate of Old Joe, the century old Confederate statue is unclear once again.
Located on the intersection of University Avenue and Main Street in downtown Gainesville, Old Joe is staying put for the time being.
"At this point, the statue does not have any plans for moving" Alachua County Assistant manager Gina Peebles told us.
An agreement in 2015 slated the statue for removal... to be moved down the road to the Matheson History Museum. But after a meeting in August, it was determined that the statue will not be moving to the Matheson like once thought.
