I am looking to get the OR's on CD. It must be searchable and to where I can copy and paste the text.
I have been using eHistory's OR's and while it's a great site I can't search it like I want to. I am looking for something that I can search for by volume. Basically if I am looking for something that happened in and around Augusta I want it to be from a campaign that happened in and Augusta, AR and not Augusta, GA. I also want to be able to get more then just 300 hits if that exist in the campaign.
I am not sure if there is anything out there like this since I haven't used anything else but eHistory. I was told to get the Guild Prees ORs, but figured I would get more opinions. I am looking only to spend around $75.00. Also this will be used with Windows XP.

Any help is very appreciated.
Thanks!

Battalion's suggestion looks good, but I see no mention of copy and paste. There are a number of online sites others will recommend -- some with this advantage, some with another. Hope a few of the users will come up with an answer to your question. I'd like to have the copy/paste feature myself.

swamphunter,

You can find the OR on CD-ROM at amazon.com for only around $70.00. Look for the ones that say that they are in PDF format. I don't know about cut and paste abilities, but I am thinking that alot of the ones that are out there are going to be copies of the pages that are in the original volumes.

I have the Guild Bindery Press version of the OR on CD. It's searchable and you can cut & paste text out of it and put in into a file.

There are at least 2 eBay sellers where you can get a an OR CD for less than $10. I got one for $9.20 plus $4.60 shipping.

It's got some highlighting and book marking features.

Of the online versions, I prefer the 'cut/pasteable' OSU version to the photocopy Cornell version.
