Treasury Note Bureau
Columbia, S. C. August 20th 1864

Hon Robt. Tyler, Reg.
Richmond, Va

My Dear Sir:
Herewith find enclosed my Report of Work done per Reg. Signers for the week ending August 20th 1864. Amounting in the Aggregate to $17,996,800, to which add amt. of "Fifty Cent Notes" issued during said week to wit $56,000, Equals $18,050,800.

Nothing of interest has transpired since my last. I am happy to state that the health of the Ladies of the Dept. is generally good, and that the work of the Office is progressing smoothly on. The Ladies this week have evinced an unusual disposition and willingness to perform their official duties. The fear of being "dropped" has had quite a desirable effect upon those who have heretofore been negligent and inattentive.

Mr. Puckery reports for duty on the 15th inst.

I am very respectfully, Your Obt. Sevt.
Wm F Miller
Chief Clerk of Reg Div.
Columbia, S. C.
