Newly discovered pre-war ship

I'm looking for some serious advice because I am lost on this subject. I've been told I am searching for a Naval architect who can help bring to life a newly discovered pre-war ship I am currently writing about for publication (hopefully). It appears to be the earliest ironclad ship designed in the US. I have uncovered a lot of details but no schematics or blueprints so I would like to bring this old ship to life.
So who or what can help make this dream a reality?
I've tried the IA generators, but they keep pushing out yachts or big battleships no matter how much I try to force-feed it the idea is based on the USS Monitor or some other ironclad.
Any advice is sincerely appreciated.
