This just arrived today from my good friend Larry Hicklen at Yesteryear Relics in Murfreesboro. 1863 American Bible Society Bible with inscription on inside cover stating it came off the U.S.S. Kearsarge. No provenance to prove it, but the Bible came from Boston, which is where the Kearsarge returned to after the engagement with the Alabama, arriving at the Navy Yard in November, 1864. Nice conversation piece.

Very Nice, what is the name on the label?

Great item a bit of mystery and fun all together. Hope you find answers. Definitely a fun conversation starter for a CW geek as my self!!
