Newbie Here, Question

Hello everyone new poster here. I was gifted a lot of ammunition from Civil War found/dug in the Virginia area. Have a hard time identifying this bullet.
The digger told me he had only found 2 like this and gifted me one.
The hole inside looks like it is from manufacturing. Any help identifying or explanation of hole would be appreciated.

Looks like a wooden plug base Enfield. The hole is just a casting flaw.
