Doing some research on Civil War uniforms tonight and looked over an oldie. This is from 1963 and the book is older than some of our forum members. It was written by Col. Frederick P. Todd, a name any real uniform researchers will recognize. I have not looked at this booklet in several years and do not know why I have not referred back to it.

Those illustrations are unmistakably by George Woodbridge, long-time staffer at MAD Magazine; U.S. uniform expert; and commander of the Brigade of the American Revolution during the Bicentennial.
